AskZine Privacy Policy
Last updated
AskZine is an entertainment and reflection app operated by independent developer Cheng Song. This policy explains information used by the app, what happens when you contact us, and the separate data practices of these website pages.
Your question stays with you
AskZine never asks you to type or speak your question, never uses the microphone, and never sends questions or answers to a cloud AI service. The original collection of responses is included in the app.
No account or subscription is required.
Information stored on your device
The app stores your current round, recent answer identifiers, and preferences locally. These records restore your current page, reduce recent repetition, and remember your Private reveal, Sound, and Haptics settings.
Saved records can also retain legacy voice metadata for recovery compatibility with earlier versions. The current app does not offer voice selection, and new rounds use one unified answer collection. Device backups may include local app data according to your Apple settings.
The app does not provide an in-app control to erase all saved preferences and history. Deleting the app removes its local app data; device or cloud backups are managed separately through Apple settings. Contact us if you need help understanding these records.
Private reveal
Private reveal is optional. It uses Apple’s local device-owner authentication. AskZine receives the authentication outcome, but not your fingerprint, face data, or device passcode. Temporary authorization is held in memory for the current page.
Diagnostics and tracking
The app includes no advertising or third-party analytics SDK. Optional development diagnostics, when explicitly enabled, are written locally and are not automatically uploaded. They do not include the text of your question or answer. Diagnostic events may contain timing, display, round-identifier, and authentication-result information used for development checks.
If you participate through TestFlight, Apple may provide crash information and feedback you choose to submit to the developer. Apple manages this process under its own terms and privacy policy. Production platform diagnostics may also be governed by your Apple settings.
Purchases and support
Apple handles App Store payments. AskZine does not receive your payment card details through the app.
If you email support, we receive the sender address, message, and any attachments you choose to send, and use them to handle your request. You do not need to tell us your private question, device passcode, or biometric information.
Support email is handled through the email service used by the developer and is separate from local app storage. You may ask us to delete support correspondence, subject to any applicable retention obligations.
These website pages
These pages load no analytics or tracking scripts. The preview shows a recorded interaction with a fixed answer; it does not collect your question. These pages do not set cookies or use browser storage.
Website hosting may process ordinary request data, such as an IP address, requested page, browser information, and request time, to serve pages and help maintain security. These website requests are separate from the app’s local data. This policy does not promise that hosting keeps no server logs.
Contact and policy changes
For support, privacy questions, or a request concerning your support correspondence, contact Cheng Song at askzine.support@gmail.com and include “AskZine” in the subject.
We will update this policy if the app’s or website’s data practices change and revise the date shown above.
